JoAnne talked with nurse coordinator Kathy today. They are going to hold a spot for her admission next Tuesday, May 10th. Any other patients returning with complications will go to the Oncology Unit instead of back to Transplant. JoAnne was told that they have never had these "overbooking" issues before. I hope the U hasn't started using airline reservation systems for their scheduling. Since JoJo has gone more than 30 days since the pre-transplant work up blood work, they need to redo the 15 vial test. They take more blood than a vampire. It is no wonder she is frequently pale. We will do that on Monday.
Just a random thought...... I had lunch today with 4 of my buddies. Two I met in first grade, one in high school and the other in college. Two others are founding members but unable to join in our lunches that occur every other month. We also gather at the lake for our annual meeting on the third weekend in July with this being year 36 or 37. When you have been friends that long, there have been countless opportunities to make an utter fool of oneself, and we have not failed to do so. It is our common bond. Unconditional acceptance, no pretense and brothers in arms. The world would be a better place if we were all connected like our 7. You guys know who you are. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
