Marty Feldman Eyes

JoJo is progressing nicely and feeling much better.  All signs point to a Saturday discharge. Looking back, a handful of maladies all came together at the same time. Her shoulder and ribs that were injured in the Sunday fall are feeling much better and the cold/respiratory thing has resolved. Her temp is back to normal so any infections must be under control. Her face and shoulders had turned nearly red as a beet and her eyes were puffy and bugged out a little like Igor in Young Frankenstein.

A biopsy came back negative for graft vs host so the doctors are guessing the reaction was drug related. She is getting high dose steroids that have significantly elevated her blood sugar. That requires insulin. They loaded her up with IV fluids, but now they want to offload those so she gets lasix which keeps her but steps from the bathroom and interrupts sleep. She is anxious to get home so she can get some rest. The redness in her face has decreased, but no one knows why for sure. Medicine. At times it is more art than science.
